Rise in the value of the dollar pays off for UK based income investors

A massive 20% of FTSE 100 firms report in dollars and so do 12% of FTSE 350 firms, including Shell, BP and HSBC. Since the dollar has increased in value relative to the pound over the last year, when investors earn dividends from their shares in dollars they'll be receiving more cash when they come to exchange their pay-outs into sterling.



Pension Freedom Changes to Hit on Easter Monday 2015

From 6 April 2015 the Government is changing the rules around so-called ‘pension freedoms’. This means over 55s will be able to access their entire pension savings before they retire. This is said to affect around 13 million pension savers in the UK.
